The Rev. Cuthbert H. Mandell

The Rev. Cuthbert Mandell is a Louisiana native, L.S.U. alumnus and ardent Tiger fan, and “cradle Episcopalian” (been one since birth). He is a second career priest, having a previous life in natural resource and environmental regulation at the state government level. He and Jane have been married since 1974, and have three grown children (Thom, Elizabeth, and Emma) .. all gainfully employed and living on their own .. a daughter-in-law (Vera), and (as of March, 2009), one grandson, Trent.

Cuthbert and Jane love the outdoors and especially the water, and can be found in kayaks and other sundry water craft during the warmer months. The Eastern Shore is a favorite haunt of theirs, both the Bay and the Ocean sides. Locally, they can be found working around the house and yard, or in sporting goods, antique, and curio stores.

Cuthbert served parishes in West Virginia and Massachusetts before accepting the call to be Aquia’s Rector in 2001. He brings a love of Christ and a passion for preaching and ministry to Aquia Church, where he has encouraged our spiritual growth and outreach to those in need.
